The Silence of the Lambs: Filming Locations from Quantico to Pittsburgh

The Silence of the Lambs is set in Virginia, Baltimore and Memphis but was filmed largely in and around Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with the FBI Academy at Quantico, the Carnegie Museum of Natural History and the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall as real stops. This route follows Clarice Starling from her FBI training to Lecter's cell and the hunt for Buffalo Bill. Two sites are private or gone, so the map marks them with a caveat.

Dawn of the Dead (1978): Monroeville Mall and Pittsburgh

Dawn of the Dead (1978) was filmed at Monroeville Mall, east of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, with other scenes shot at a downtown Pittsburgh dock, a Monroeville airfield and a truck yard in Irwin. George A. Romero's zombie film is set in Philadelphia and a mall, but it was made in the Pittsburgh area. This route follows the survivors from the police dock to the mall, with the real places that stood in for each scene. Several of those places have changed or disappeared.

密輸屋のジョエルは、世界を終わらせた菌への免疫をもつかもしれない14歳の少女エリーを、荒廃したアメリカを越えて、ボストンの隔離地区からソルトレイクシティの病院まで送り届ける仕事を請け負う。配達の仕事として始まった旅は、二人にとって残された家族に最も近いものとなり、病院の廊下で、あり得ない選択を迫られて終わる。このルートは二人の西への道を物語の順にたどる。オースティンでの発生の夜、ボストンでの引き渡し、ビルの罠だらけの町、ピッツバーグの待ち伏せ、トミーのダム沿いの集落ジャクソン、コロラドの無人の大学、ソルトレイクシティの病院。都市は実在するが、物語の舞台は大まかな位置にとどまり、実在のランドマークをピンとしている。
