Richard the Lionheart: Crusade to Château Gaillard
Richard the Lionheart's Third Crusade and captivity run from Limassol and Acre to Arsuf, Dürnstein Castle, Trifels Castle and Château Gaillard in Normandy. The king of England took Cyprus in 1191 and reached Acre, then won at Arsuf. On the way home he was captured and held for ransom, and later built Château Gaillard above the Seine. The Cyprus wedding is only a tradition.
