Parthenope (2024), Sorrentino's film, was shot in Naples and on Capri: Villa Lauro in Posillipo, the Galleria Umberto I, Federico II University, the Gardens of Augustus, Spaccanapoli, Naples Cathedral and Via Partenope. It follows a woman named after her city from her birth in 1950 to 2023.
The route runs in story order, from the sea at Posillipo to the seafront where the film ends.
The Great Beauty (La grande bellezza) was filmed in Rome, from the Fontana dell'Acqua Paola on the Janiculum and Palazzo Sacchetti on Via Giulia to Santa Maria del Priorato on the Aventine, Villa Medici and the Verano Cemetery, with a last scene on Giglio Island.
Shooting began on 9 August 2012 and lasted about eight weeks. This route follows Jep Gambardella's story through seven of those places, and says where you can still go.
