A free hobby project

Mapped Chronicles is an independently operated, non-commercial project for exploring and creating cultural and historical journeys. There are no paid features, advertisements, or donations. These terms describe use of the service; our Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled. Contact support@mappedchronicles.com with questions.

Use Mapped Chronicles responsibly

You may browse public journeys and create an account for personal use. Do not misuse the service, interfere with other accounts, bypass access controls, or submit unlawful or harmful material.

Your account and contributions

Keep your credentials private and provide accurate, source-backed contributions. Only submit material you have the right to use, and preserve required attribution, licence, permission, and source information. You retain ownership of your contribution and grant Mapped Chronicles the non-exclusive rights needed to store, review, format, publish, display, and distribute it through the service. Mapped Chronicles may restrict accounts or remove material that violates these terms or puts the service or its community at risk.

Use the contact and reports process for copyright, unlawful-content, privacy, or factual concerns. A report does not guarantee removal; the operator will assess the material, the rights involved, and any reason for restricted retention.

Submitting a route does not guarantee publication. Contributions are reviewed before publication and may be returned for changes or rejected. Contact us if you believe a moderation decision is mistaken.

Leaving the service

You can delete your account from your profile. Currently published routes may remain available without account ownership links, as described in the Privacy Policy. The permission to display those retained contributions continues after account deletion, subject to applicable rights and removal requests. Guest drafts are stored in your browser and may be lost if its data is cleared.

Service availability

Mapped Chronicles is provided as available. Features may change, pause, or be withdrawn. Public narratives can include approximate, disputed, fictional, or contributor-supplied information; check the displayed accuracy labels and sources before relying on them.

Maps and narratives are not navigation or safety advice and do not establish a right to enter a location. Check current access conditions and local restrictions before visiting. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Changes to these terms will be posted here with an updated date.
