Un passo dal cielo: Filming Locations in the Dolomites

Un passo dal cielo, the Rai 1 series, is set in San Candido in South Tyrol and later in San Vito di Cadore in the Belluno Dolomites, but it was mostly filmed around Lago di Braies, Prato Piazza, Dobbiaco, Lago di Mosigo and Misurina. This route follows the series from its South Tyrol seasons to its Cadore seasons, with eight places where scenes were set or shot. Where the sources only name a place, the pin marks the area.

Trafalgar and Nelson: From Portsmouth to St Paul's

The Battle of Trafalgar was fought off Cape Trafalgar in Spain, but Nelson's story runs from Portsmouth and HMS Victory to Gibraltar, Greenwich and St Paul's Cathedral in London. This route follows Nelson's last journey in order: his farewell at Portsmouth in September 1805, the battle on 21 October, the tow to Gibraltar, his lying in state at Greenwich, the funeral at St Paul's, and Nelson's Column in Trafalgar Square. The Portsmouth and Gibraltar pins are approximate.

Dunkirk: From the Beach to Swanage

Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk (2017) was shot on the beach at Dunkirk itself, then on a Dutch lake off Urk, at Weymouth harbour and Swanage station in Dorset, and on a clifftop in California. Five stops follow the soldiers' beach, the little boat that sets out from Weymouth, the pilot's cockpit and the train home. These are filming sites, so some pins mark the area rather than the exact spot.

Humboldt in the Americas: 1799–1804

Alexander von Humboldt in the Americas, 1799–1804: Cumaná in Venezuela, the electric eels of Calabozo, Chimborazo in Ecuador, Callao in Peru, the silver mine at Guanajuato and Jefferson's White House. He and Aimé Bonpland spent five years measuring, collecting and climbing. This route follows eight stops from the landing at Cumaná to Washington in 1804. Several pins are approximate because the sources name a region or river rather than one spot.

Genshin Impact: The Real China Behind Liyue

Genshin Impact's Liyue is a fantasy nation, but its cliffs, pools and harbour were built from real Chinese places. The route follows the landscapes its developers named as models, from Yangshuo and Huanglong to Zhangjiajie, Fenghuang and Huangshan. Three of them, Zhangjiajie, Huanglong and Guilin, also hosted official in-park collaborations in 2020. The pins mark the real models, not game locations.
