Что значат пометки у мест?
Приблизительное
Верный район — город, парк или квартал, — но не точная точка.
  1. Matthew Quigley, a sharpshooter, arrives in Australia by boat. The film opens with a title card, "Fremantle, Western Australia", and a dockside brawl: Quigley fights three men who are trying to force a woman, "Crazy Cora", into their wagon. Fremantle is the port of Perth, but the cameras never went there. Warrnambool in Victoria stood in for it, so this pin marks the real harbour the story names.

Точность места: The film is set in Fremantle but was shot in Victoria; the pin marks Fremantle Harbour, not a filming site.

  2. Quigley is driven to Marston's station, demands the "$50 in gold coin" he was promised and shows his skill by hitting a distant bucket three times. Then Marston explains the real job: using Quigley's aim against Aboriginal Australians. Quigley refuses and throws him out of his own house. The "Marston Station" was a $1 million replica of a 19th-century ranch built for the film, and the credits thank Ross River Homestead in the Northern Territory.

Точность места: The ranch was a purpose-built set; the pin marks Ross River Homestead, thanked in the credits, not a confirmed set location.

Советы для посещения: Ross River Homestead is a working outback stop east of Alice Springs; the film set itself is not a known attraction.

  3. Marston's men beat Quigley and Cora unconscious and dump them in the desert with no water and little chance of survival. Quigley recovers his rifle, and he and Cora spend a few days trekking the Outback until Aboriginal Australians rescue them. Filming began here on 18 September 1989, the first of fifty-one Northern Territory locations.

  4. Leaving Cora and an orphaned baby in a cave, Quigley rides to a nearby coastal town. German gunsmith Grimmelman supplies new ammunition, and Marston's men soon hunt him down. Cornered in a burning building, Quigley escapes through a skylight and kills all but one of them. The fishing village was a museum-style replica of an 1860 port town, built at Meekathanga on the shores of Apollo Bay, Victoria, on the Great Ocean Road.

Точность места: The village was a film set on Apollo Bay's shore; the pin marks the town of Apollo Bay.

Советы для посещения: Apollo Bay is a tourist town on the Great Ocean Road; the set village is not a known attraction.

  5. After the showdown, Quigley and Cora book passage back to the United States in the name of her husband, Roy Cobb, because Quigley is wanted. On the wharf she finally calls him "Matthew Quigley", and the film ends. Warrnambool in Victoria portrayed Fremantle, and the end credits thank Flagstaff Hill Maritime Museum. The city sits at the western end of the Great Ocean Road.

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang: Filming Locations from Turville to Neuschwanstein

Chitty Chitty Bang Bang (1968) was filmed at Cobstone Windmill near Turville in Buckinghamshire, at Cap Taillat in the South of France, in Rothenburg ob der Tauber and at Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria. The route follows the film from the Potts family's windmill home to the beach picnic, then on Caractacus's story to Vulgaria, with the castle of Baron Bomburst as the finale. Several pins are approximate because the guides name an area, not a spot.

The Exorcist: Georgetown to Hatra

The Exorcist is set in Georgetown, Washington DC, and opens in the ruins of Hatra in northern Iraq. The Birds: Filming Locations from San Francisco to Bodega Bay

Hitchcock's The Birds is set in Bodega Bay, California, and filmed there too: the harbor, the Tides Wharf restaurant and the schoolhouse in nearby Bodega are all real places you can find on the map. The route starts in San Francisco's Union Square, follows Melanie Daniels across the bay to the Brenner farm, and ends with the crows at the schoolhouse and the diner siege. Some Bodega Bay scenes were shot on a studio set, so the pins mark the real places the film borrowed.
