Engelbert Kaempfer: Journey from Nagasaki to Edo, 1691
Engelbert Kaempfer travelled from Dejima in Nagasaki to the shogun's court in Edo in 1691, via Shimonoseki, Osaka and the Tokaido road near Lake Ashi.
