Overwatch maps in Europe: real-life locations
Overwatch (called Overwatch 2 until February 2026) sets its European maps in real places: King's Row is a London neighborhood, Circuit Royal is Monte Carlo, Colosseo is Rome, Rialto is Venice and Esperança is inspired by Porto.
This route follows eleven maps west to east, from Grímsvötn in Iceland to Volskaya Industries near St. Petersburg, with the mode, the date each arrived and the real place behind it. Other routes cover Overwatch maps in the Americas and in Africa and Asia. Pins mark a real model place or landmark, not a copied district.

What do the location labels mean?
- Approximate
- The right area — a town, park or district — but not a precise spot.
Grímsvötn is an Escort map that arrived on 6 October 2026 with Season 5, set deep in the fire and ice of an Icelandic volcanic fissure. It was once an Overwatch Watchpoint, later controlled by Helix, and was built to make sure prisoners never got out; it has housed some of the world's most dangerous criminals. The facility is fiction, but its name belongs to a real active volcano in Vatnajökull National Park, Iceland.

Malevento is a free-for-all map that arrived on 28 September 2021: a peaceful Italian hilltop town with a cursed past. The pin marks Pitigliano.
Location precision: Malevento is invented; the team names two Tuscan villages as inspiration, and the pin marks Pitigliano.
Visitor guidance: Pitigliano is a town in the province of Grosseto, about 80 km south-east of the city of Grosseto.
