What do the location labels mean?
Exact
The pin marks the actual place where it happened or was filmed.
Approximate
The right area — a town, park or district — but not a precise spot.
  1. Seok-woo and his daughter Su-an board the KTX 101 for Busan at Seoul Station. Just before departure a scraped-up woman boards the train unnoticed at the last minute, and the outbreak follows her on board. Seoul Station is the terminus for all trains on the Gyeongbu High Speed Line to Busan, Daejeon and Daegu. Beside the modern station stands the old building, finished in November 1925 and reopened as a culture complex with its original exterior.

Visitor guidance: KTX trains to Busan, Daejeon and Daegu leave from the modern station; the old 1925 building is a culture complex.

  2. Once the outbreak starts, the survivors flee to other carriages and secure the doors. The train passes through Cheonan station and continues on to Daejeon. Cheonan is the junction of the Gyeongbu and Janghang lines, and the film's crew shot in various stations in Daejeon, Cheonan and East Daegu. No source names the exact station used, so the pin marks Cheonan's main station, the one the train passes in the story.

Visitor guidance: Cheonan station is the junction of the Gyeongbu and Janghang lines.

  3. At Daejeon a group of soldiers has been deployed to keep the infection at bay. The passengers disembark from the train, only to find that the soldiers offer no safety. The station really was used for the 2016 film. Daejeon Station opened on 1 January 1905, and it inspired the romantic blues ballad "Daejeon Blues".

Visitor guidance: Daejeon Station serves all KTX trains on the Gyeongbu Line.

  4. A blocked track at Dongdaegu Station forces the train to stop. Then a flaming locomotive arrives and crashes into some of the zombie-filled passenger carriages. Dongdaegu (East Daegu) station features in the film, and it is one of the stations where filming took place. It lies 282 km south of Seoul Station on the KTX line.

Visitor guidance: Dongdaegu is a KTX station in Daegu, reached by high-speed train from Seoul.

  5. The conductor cancels all stops except Busan, where the army has established a quarantine. Near the end, a group of soldiers mistake the last survivors for zombies, and Su-an sings "Aloha 'Oe" to calm her nerves. Busan Station is the line's real terminus. Construction of its new KTX terminal began in 2001 and was completed in 2003, and the station is considered an architecturally significant building. Next door, a ferry terminal serves ports in Japan.

Location precision: The final scene takes place on the approach to Busan, not at the station; the pin marks Busan Station, the train's destination.

Visitor guidance: Busan Station is the KTX terminus; the international ferry terminal for Japan stands beside it.

Jodhaa Akbar: Filming Locations in Rajasthan

Jodhaa Akbar (2008) is set in the Mughal Empire and was filmed at Amber Fort, Roopangarh Fort, Agra Fort, Ajmer Sharif Dargah and on the outskirts of Jaipur. The film tells how the young emperor Jalaluddin, later called Akbar, marries the Rajput princess Jodhaa of Amber, and this route follows the story across the real forts and shrines where its scenes were shot. Many events in the film are fictional, and historians dispute the name Jodhaa Bai. Several interiors, including the Agra Fort halls, were rebuilt as sets at Karjat.
