Wednesday: Nevermore, Jericho and the Irish Season
Wednesday Addams is sent to Nevermore Academy, a school for outcasts in the fictional Vermont town of Jericho. Netflix built that world in Romania: a castle above Bușteni, Bucharest interiors, a backlot town and a country mansion standing in for the Gates house. When season 2 moved production to Ireland in 2024, Nevermore gained a castle in County Offaly, a waterfall campsite and a Dublin cemetery. Much of the Irish shoot was based at Ashford Studios in County Wicklow.
This route follows the show's geography through the real places that played it, season by season. The pins mark filming locations, not invented Vermont addresses.

Nevermore's towers belong to a castle above Bușteni. Cantacuzino Castle was finished in 1911 for Prince Gheorghe Grigore Cantacuzino, and its stone terrace looks towards the Bucegi Mountains. The series used the exterior as the school, with computer-generated imagery extending the shots. It has been open to the public since 2010, and daily guided tours now cover the interior and its courtyard sculptures.
Para el visitante: Open daily for guided tours; the stone terrace has views of the Bucegi Mountains.

Nevermore's interiors were not filmed in a castle. The production moved to Casa Monteoru, a house built in 1874 on Calea Victoriei in central Bucharest. For decades it was the headquarters of the Union of Writers of Romania. Since May 2026 it has operated as the Grand Café de Bucharest, so visitors can eat in a room that played a school for outcasts.

Jericho does not exist in Vermont. The whole town was constructed at Buftea Studios outside Bucharest, the production's base in Romania. Production designer Mark Scruton based the set on Charles Addams's original cartoons, and the fictional town is where Wednesday meets Tyler, a local coffee shop barista. The town exists only as a set, so there is no street to visit.

The Gates family's house is another stand-in in Romania. The Olga Greceanu Mansion in Dâmbovița County plays the Gates mansion in season 1. In episode 6 Wednesday sneaks in with only Thing and finds the Cadillac that hit the mayor parked in the garage, the clue that ties the house to the attack.

Ireland took over as Nevermore in season 2. Charleville Castle, a Gothic castle near Tullamore in County Offaly, supplied the school's interiors: its corridors, dormitories and classrooms. Built between 1800 and 1812 to a design by Francis Johnston, it had long been called one of Europe's most haunted buildings, a reputation that suited the show. Wednesday returns to Nevermore here, and shooting began in Ireland in May 2024. The castle is run by a heritage trust and opens for events.

Episode 3 sends Nevermore's field trip to Camp Jericho, and the campsite was built beside Powerscourt Waterfall in County Wicklow. The production spent about six weeks preparing the outdoor set and shot most of the episode there. The waterfall is Ireland's second highest at 121 metres, part of the Powerscourt Estate, with tickets for the public available 363 days a year.
Para el visitante: Tickets for the waterfall are sold through the Powerscourt Estate and are available 363 days a year.

The Nevermore Cemetery was assembled from several places, and Deansgrange supplied its mausoleum. The production built the tomb as a standing set in this south Dublin cemetery, one of the largest in the area. Deansgrange opened in 1865 and holds more than 150,000 graves; on screen it becomes the show's gothic graveyard. The exact mausoleum spot is not marked, so treat the pin as the cemetery itself rather than a set you can walk up to.
Precisión del lugar: The mausoleum was a standing set and the show used several places for the Nevermore Cemetery; the pin marks Deansgrange Cemetery as a whole.
Para el visitante: A cemetery in south Dublin; visit respectfully.
