  1. Jimmy Perez lives in the Lodberrie, a house on the foreshore of South Commercial Street with its foundations built into the sea. The BBC's Shetland, based on the novels of Ann Cleeves, was first broadcast on 10 March 2013. Next door is Bain's Beach, and Lerwick's Commercial Street has featured in every series. Be aware that the house itself is a private residence, so look from the street and the shore.

Советы для посещения: The house is private; view it from the foreshore and Commercial Street in Lerwick.

  2. In series two, filmed in 2013 and screened in 2014, Busta House Hotel plays the famous Skellwick Hotel. The pin marks the real hotel that stands in for the story's Skellwick.

  3. Burland Croft was one of the central filming locations of series two. On screen it is the fictional home of Evie Henderson and her husband, John. The croft's adjoining workshop is used today as a boatbuilding shed to construct traditional wooden boats, just as in the show.

  4. At the southern tip of Shetland's Mainland, the lighthouse and its associated buildings were used as a fictional hotel. From here it is possible to see Fair Isle on a clear day, the island Jimmy Perez is said to come from. The lighthouse was built by engineer Robert Stevenson, and the area is now a nature reserve of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds.

  5. In series six the museum becomes a crucial location when election hustings are interrupted by a gunman who has gained entry to the building. It stands on Hay's Dock in Lerwick, and the current building was officially opened on 31 May 2007.

  6. The rugged cliffs of Eshaness are used as the fictional Pit of Biddista from the books. In series seven this is where Connor's moped turns up, prompting a search of the area for his body. The power of the Atlantic storms is displayed at the Grind o Da Navir, just north of Esha Ness Lighthouse, commissioned in 1929.

Точность места: The show films along the whole north-west coast; the pin is the Eshaness peninsula, not one spot.

Советы для посещения: Keep a safe distance from the cliff edge.
