The 1990s sitcom Mr. Bean was filmed across London, Sussex and the south coast: the Surbiton street used for his flat, Stanmer Church, Peacehaven beach, Battersea Park and Clarence Pier. On screen he lives at Flat 2, 12 Arbour Road, Highbury; the front door was filmed in Surbiton.
This route follows the episodes from the 1990 pilot to the 1995 golf sketch: eight stops through a Henry Moore sculpture, a Kingston market, a Southsea hotel room and a runaway golf ball. Most are public places; the Surbiton house is a private home, so it is one to see from the street.
Real Boys (Реальные пацаны) is set and filmed in Perm, from the «Счастье не за горами» sign on the Kama embankment to Kolyan's flat in the House of the Loader.
The mockumentary ran from 2010 to 2023 and followed a Perm lad and his friends for ten seasons, with the city playing itself. This route visits the filming sites: the phone shop where Kolyan meets Lera, the garage on Malaya Yamskaya, the police set in the Palace of Youth, the university globe, Gorky Park, the wedding restaurant and the cafe the lads try to run. Some of them are now shops or offices.
Chainsaw Man is a late-1990s Tokyo where devils are real, and the anime's model streets run from Nerima Station to the phone booth and stairs of Kanda in the Reze Arc film. Denji, a teenage Devil Hunter, joins the government's Public Safety Division under Makima, and the 12-episode first season (2022) sends him and Power through Nerima. The 2025 film moves the story to Kanda: Denji meets Reze, a Bomb Devil hybrid, beside a Jinbocho phone booth, and she works at a café in Sarugakuchō.
This route follows the documented model spots in story order, from Nerima Station and a footbridge in the season finale to the phone booth, the Aoi Building, the Onnazaka stairs and the café fans call Futamichi. Most are working streets and businesses; visit quietly.
The Karate Kid was filmed across Los Angeles's San Fernando Valley: Daniel's South Seas apartments in Reseda, the street in Canoga Park where Miyagi's house stood, the beach at Leo Carrillo and the final tournament at the Matadome in Northridge.
The route follows Daniel's arrival in California, from the Reseda apartment where he and his mother arrive, past West Valley High and the Cobra Kai dojo, to Ali's house in Encino, the go-karts at Golf N' Stuff and the lake in the Chatsworth preserve where Miyagi teaches balance. Most of the places still stand, though Miyagi's house was demolished.
Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai is set in Fujisawa and Kamakura on the Kanagawa coast, and its story runs through real places: the Fujisawa library where Sakuta first sees Mai in a bunny suit, the Enoden line to Shichirigahama, the beach where he meets Shoko, the shrine on Enoshima and the aquarium on Katase Beach.
The route follows the first television series from the library and Fujisawa Station to Goshogaya Park, Shichirigahama and Enoshima. Mai, Tomoe and Shoko each have a scene here, and most of the stops are ordinary public places that still look much as they do in the anime.
GTA: San Andreas turns California and Nevada into one state: Los Santos is Los Angeles, San Fierro is San Francisco, Las Venturas is Las Vegas. The 2004 game follows CJ from Grove Street to stand-ins for the Golden Gate, Hoover Dam and the Las Vegas Strip.
This route visits seven real stand-ins behind the game, from Compton and the Hollywood Sign to Mount Diablo, the Golden Gate Bridge, Area 51, Hoover Dam and the Las Vegas Strip. Every pin marks the real place, and each stop names the in-game location it doubles for. Expect city traffic, desert heat and long drives between stops.
Fallout 76 is set in West Virginia, and its map reproduces Flatwoods, Point Pleasant, Charleston's Capitol, The Greenbrier and the New River Gorge Bridge.
This route follows the landmarks in the order the main quest reaches them, from the Responders' church at Flatwoods and the airport at Morgantown to the Free States' armory at Harpers Ferry, the Brotherhood's asylum at Weston and the Enclave bunker beneath the Greenbrier. Each stop pairs the real site with what the game does there.
Fallout 3 is set in the ruins of Washington, D.C., and its Capital Wasteland includes the Washington Monument, the National Mall, the National Archives and the Jefferson Memorial as places the player can explore. Bethesda's 2008 role-playing game takes place in 2277, 200 years after a nuclear war, and sends the Lone Wanderer across the real city and its Metro.
This route follows the main story from the first view of the Washington Monument to the Brotherhood's march on the Jefferson Memorial, taking in the Mall's trenches, the White House crater and the Archives' robot guardian. Raven Rock, the real Cold War bunker in Pennsylvania, is the Enclave's base, and the Broken Steel add-on ends the route at the Citadel inside the Pentagon.
O Brother, Where Art Thou? was shot almost entirely in Mississippi, from Leland's handcar railway to the Canton square and the Yazoo City bank. The baptism lake outside Vicksburg and the closing shot at Edwards are here too. Three convicts break out of a chain gang in 1937 and go looking for a buried treasure before the valley is flooded.
This route follows the film from the blind prophet on the handcar to the barn that burns, the radio session that makes the Soggy Bottom Boys famous, the sirens at D'Lo Water Park, the Canton rally and the Vicksburg gala, and ends at the Edwards crossing that closes the picture.
Little House in the Big Woods begins in a log cabin near Pepin, Wisconsin, and the Ingalls family goes on to a Kansas prairie, a dugout beside Plum Creek at Walnut Grove, Minnesota, and the Dakota homestead at De Smet. All five homesites survive as cabins, museums or marked sites.
The route follows the books in order: the Wisconsin woods of the early 1870s, the Kansas cabin of 1869–1870, the locust-struck dugout of 1874, the surveyors' house and homestead at De Smet, and finally Rocky Ridge Farm in Mansfield, Missouri, where Laura Ingalls Wilder wrote the first four books in the Rock House at 65.
Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey was filmed in Morocco, Greece, Italy, Iceland, Scotland and Malta, with Aït Benhaddou as Troy, Favignana as the goat island and the Aeolian Islands as Aeolia.
Matt Damon's Odysseus spends twenty years getting home. His crew is eaten by a Cyclops, crushed by Laestrygonians and sent to the underworld; Calypso keeps him on Ogygia, and Ithaca is full of suitors when he finally washes ashore.
This route follows the film's locations in story order, from the fall of Troy to the castle above Favignana that served as Ithaca. Every stop is a real place, but the mythical islands and monsters are not.
A Nightmare on Elm Street sets Springwood, Ohio, on a leafy Los Angeles street: Nancy Thompson's house at 1428 North Genesee Avenue, Glen's across the road, John Marshall High School as the protagonists' school and a shuttered 1927 jail standing in for the police station. Wes Craven shot the film in 32 days on about $1.1 million, and the two houses still look very much as they did in 1984.
The route follows the film from Nancy's bad morning at school through the police station, Rod's funeral, the sleep clinic and Glen's last night, and ends at the house where Nancy turns the nightmare around. Two stops are private homes and the school is a working campus, so most of it is seen from the street.
Halloween's Haddonfield is South Pasadena and Hollywood, from the Myers house on Mission Street to the Doyle house on Orange Grove Avenue. John Carpenter shot the 1978 film in 20 days that May, using a quiet Los Angeles suburb, a Sierra Madre cemetery and two houses on a Hollywood block with few palm trees to stand in for Illinois.
This route follows Michael Myers from the 1963 murder in his childhood home to the stolen mask at Nichol's Hardware, the school day, the first sighting at the hedge and the babysitting night in Hollywood. The Myers house has moved since filming; the route says where it stands now.

This route follows eight of those places in story order, from Casey Becker's house and Sidney Prescott's bedroom to the school, the town square, the video store and the Tomales house where the killers are unmasked. Several stops are private houses, so see them from the street; the square and the community center are the public ones.
Bayside Shakedown is set in Tokyo's fictional Wangan Precinct, and its real home is Odaiba: Fuji Television's headquarters, the island and the Rainbow Bridge that gives the second film its title.
The police comedy began on Fuji TV in 1997, the year the network moved to Odaiba, then a half-empty district. This route follows the show from the studio to Tokyo Teleport Station, the shot-in-Shiomi precinct and a Kyoto road junction that doubled for the bridge.
Natsume's Book of Friends is set in an unnamed country town, but many of its scenes are modelled on Hitoyoshi in Kumamoto, the author's hometown, with Hitoyoshi Station, Okadome Kofuku Station and Ichifusa Dam all shown in the anime.
This route follows the rails and hills of the Hitoyoshi-Kuma region and ends with one detour to Fukuoka. The series gives no street addresses, so most pins mark the area, not a single scene.
Girls Band Cry is set in Kawasaki, Kanagawa, and its gigs map onto real places: the station's east plaza, the LAZONA Kawasaki atrium, Chidori Park and CLUB CITTA'. This route follows the band's story through them.
The story was first imagined in Shimokitazawa or Ikebukuro before the creators chose Kawasaki. Several venues also hosted the real band Togenashi Togeari.
The Texas Chain Saw Massacre was filmed around Austin in the summer of 1973, and its main sites can still be visited: Bagdad Cemetery in Leander, the Last Chance Gas Station in Bastrop, and the Quick Hill farmhouse, now Hooper's restaurant in Kingsland. This route follows the film from the grave-robbing opening to Sally's escape on a Round Rock road, then ends inside the house where Leatherface's family sat down to dinner.
Tobe Hooper shot the $140,000 film on 16mm over 13 days, using a real farmhouse, a working gas station and a country cemetery instead of sets. Temperatures reached 110°F during the shoot.
Friday the 13th (1980) was filmed at Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco in Hardwick, New Jersey, with Blairstown's Main Street, the Moravian Cemetery in Hope and the Blairstown Diner standing in for the town and countryside around Camp Crystal Lake.
The film was shot in and around Hardwick, Blairstown and Hope in autumn 1979, mostly at a working Boy Scout camp on Sand Pond. This route follows Annie's hitchhike into town, the counselors' night at camp, Steve Christy's evening at the diner and Alice's final struggle on the lakeshore.
Zhmurki (Dead Man's Bluff, 2005) is set in 1990s Nizhny Novgorod, and Aleksei Balabanov filmed it there: in the Kovalikhinsky Baths, at Vodnik Stadium, by the Church of Elijah and in the Sirotkin House.
This route follows seven locations of Balabanov's black comedy about bandits of the 1990s, from the bathhouse that played a morgue to the house of the final showdown. Several stops have changed since the shoot, and one is closed to visitors.
Paranormasight is set in 1980s Sumida, Tokyo, and built on the Honjo Seven Mysteries, Edo-era ghost stories tied to real spots such as Kinshibori Park, the Former Yasuda Garden and Ryogoku.
The 2023 Square Enix game turns the legends into cursed beads passed to its characters. The route follows its opening scene and the legends' old sites. The exact sites of the old stories are uncertain, so several pins mark the neighbourhood.

Most of the stops are on public streets or in public parks; the two studio-lot stops sit on private land.
The Fast and the Furious (2001) turned real Los Angeles places into Dom Toretto's world: Dodger Stadium, Bob's Market in Echo Park, the house on East Kensington Road and Neptune's Net in Malibu.
This route follows nine of those places in story order, from the opening test at Dodger Stadium to the final race on Terminal Island, with a detour to Race Wars at San Bernardino. Some are working shops, homes or airport ground; the film's streets are still the draw.
The Meeting Place Cannot Be Changed (1979) is set in Moscow in autumn 1945 and was filmed at the Bolshoi Theatre, on Gorky Street (now Tverskaya) and, for much of it, in Odesa. Captain Zheglov and the young Sharapov hunt the Black Cat gang through stations, theatres and restaurants.
The route follows the investigation, then crosses to the Odesa Film Studio and Shevchenko Park, where postwar Moscow was rebuilt for the cameras. Several Moscow interiors are approximate pins.
