Pretty Woman: Beverly Hills and Hollywood Locations
Pretty Woman is set in Los Angeles, mostly around Hollywood Boulevard, the Beverly Wilshire Hotel and Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, with one night at the San Francisco Opera.
This route follows Vivian and Edward's week in story order, from the Hollywood street where they meet to the opera house. Some scenes were filmed elsewhere, such as the Ambassador Hotel lobby and the Cicada dinner, and the stops say so.

Edward leaves a business party in the Hollywood Hills, borrows his lawyer's Lotus Esprit and ends up lost in the red-light district on Hollywood Boulevard. He cannot work the stickshift, so Vivian Ward, a street walker, offers to drive him to his hotel. That meeting starts the film. The boulevard runs through central Hollywood, the tourist stretch home to the Hollywood Walk of Fame, so the street itself is easy to walk today, though the film does not name a corner.
Precisión del lugar: The film names Hollywood Boulevard but no block; the pin marks the street, not one corner.
Para el visitante: Walk the Hollywood Walk of Fame section of the boulevard.

Vivian steers Edward to the Regent Beverly Wilshire Hotel, and he impulsively hires her for the whole night. The next day he asks her to stay for the week, and the penthouse becomes the film's main stage. The real hotel opened in 1928 at Wilshire Boulevard and Rodeo Drive and was the primary setting for the movie, though most lobby interiors were filmed elsewhere. You can see the hotel from the street, at one of Beverly Hills' best-known corners.
Para el visitante: Stands at the corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills.

The Beverly Wilshire lobby you see on screen was actually the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles, which doubled for it. Filming began on 24 July 1989. The Ambassador had closed to guests in 1989, and demolition began in 2005, so the lobby no longer exists. The pin marks the site of the hotel on Wilshire Boulevard rather than a surviving building.

Edward gives Vivian money for clothes, but when she tries to shop on Rodeo Drive, snobbish and rude saleswomen turn her away because of the way she looks. She asks hotel manager Barney for help, and he gets saleslady Bridget to find a cocktail dress for that evening's business dinner. Rodeo Drive is the three-block stretch between Wilshire Boulevard and Little Santa Monica Boulevard, and the boutiques are open to anyone who wants to repeat the walk.
Precisión del lugar: The film names Rodeo Drive but not the boutique; the pin marks the three-block street, not one shop.
Para el visitante: Walk the three blocks between Wilshire and Little Santa Monica boulevards.

Dressed for the evening, Vivian meets Morse and his grandson David over dinner. It does not go well: they dislike Edward's plan to dismantle their company. The escargot scene was shot at Rex II Ristorante, now called Cicada, which is housed in downtown Los Angeles' Oviatt Building. The pin marks that restaurant building.
Precisión del lugar: The sources link Rex II to Cicada by name, and Cicada to the Oviatt Building; the street address is not stated for the film itself.
Para el visitante: The Oviatt Building is home to the Cicada Restaurant and Lounge.

Edward takes Vivian by private jet to see La traviata at the San Francisco Opera. She is moved, and she breaks her "no kissing" rule. The opera house in San Francisco has been the home of the San Francisco Opera since 1932, so the pin marks that building, though the article does not say the scene was filmed there. Check the season for current performances.
Precisión del lugar: The film sets the scene at the San Francisco Opera; the pin marks the company's home, not a confirmed filming spot.
Para el visitante: Opera performances run in the War Memorial Opera House on Van Ness Avenue.
