The Wolverine: Tokyo to Tomonoura
The Wolverine (2013) is set in Tokyo and Nagasaki, but it was filmed at Zojo-ji Temple, Nakagin Capsule Tower, Fukuyama Station and the port of Tomonoura, plus a reserve near Sydney standing in for 1945.
The route follows Logan from a prisoner-of-war camp in August 1945 to Yashida's funeral in Tokyo, a bullet-train fight and a hideout in a love hotel, ending in the fishing port of Tomonoura. Several scenes were shot in Australia, and the Nakagin tower no longer stands.

The film opens in August 1945 with Logan held in a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp near Nagasaki. When the atomic bomb falls, he shields an officer named Ichirō Yashida from the blast, the debt that drags him to Japan decades later. None of it was shot in Japan: the camp was built at Bonna Point Reserve in Kurnell, on the south side of Botany Bay near Sydney, and the earliest scenes were filmed there.
地図に表示していません訪問可否は未確認場所の精度: The camp is a film set in Australia; no pin is given because the dossier has no verified coordinates for the reserve.

Yashida dies, and his funeral is where the Yakuza try to kidnap his granddaughter Mariko; Logan and Mariko escape together into the sprawl of Tokyo. The temple shown is Zojo-ji, in the shadow of the red and white Tokyo Tower. In real history it was the Tokugawa family temple, and six of the 15 Tokugawa shoguns are buried there. The fight in the temple grounds was staged at Sydney's Chinese Garden of Friendship.

After the bullet-train fight, Logan and Mariko hide in a local love hotel. The building used is not a hotel at all but the Nakagin Capsule Tower in Ginza, a block of detachable pods designed in 1972 by architect Kisho Kurokawa. Demolition began on 12 April 2022, so the tower can no longer be visited.
