La zona correcta (una ciudad, un parque o un barrio), pero no un punto preciso.
  1. Mare Fuori is set in an imaginary "Istituto Penale per Minorenni di Napoli", loosely inspired by the juvenile prison on the island of Nisida. The story opens in Naples in 2020 with two teenagers, Carmine Di Salvo and Filippo Ferrari. Nisida's prison was the inspiration, not the set: the prison scenes were shot elsewhere in the city. The pin marks the island, which you can see from the Bagnoli pier later on this route.

Precisión del lugar: The series names Nisida's prison as inspiration, but the show is filmed at a naval base; the pin marks the island itself.

  2. The first episode of season 1 starts the Filippo and Naditza story here. Filippo, a boy from a good northern family with a career as a pianist ahead of him, meets Naditza in the station. She gives him a quick kiss to distract him and the guards while she steals his wallet. The station is on Naples metro line 1, stop Toledo.

Para el visitante: Take metro line 1 to the Toledo stop.

  3. The prison that fills the screen is not on Nisida. The scenes were shot at the Navy base on Via Acton in Naples, and the base and its Molo San Vincenzo appear in every episode. It was once the seat of the Royal Navy of the Kingdom of the Two Sicilies, where ships were launched and cannons built. The pin marks the Molo San Vincenzo, the nearest mapped point; the base itself is a Navy site.

Precisión del lugar: The base is a Navy site with no mapped entrance; the pin marks the Molo San Vincenzo, the closest mapped point.

  4. In the first episode of season 3, Ciro and his sister Rosa walk along this pier and remember their childhood. It was built in the 1960s so ships could dock and unload raw materials for the Italsider steelworks, and it runs for almost a kilometre into the sea. From the end you can look over the Gulf of Pozzuoli, the islands of Procida and Ischia, Capo Miseno and the little island of Nisida, the real prison that gave the series its idea.

  5. In episode 5 of season 3, Gaetano is killed by Mimmo here, at the Gaiola, a submerged park at Posillipo not far from the centre of Naples. The pin marks the protected marine park around the Gaiola island rather than the exact spot of the scene, so it makes a last stop after the city locations.

Precisión del lugar: The guide places the scene on Gaiola; the pin marks the surrounding marine park, not an exact spot.
