Timeline & locations

What do the location labels mean?
Exact
The pin marks the actual place where it happened or was filmed.
Approximate
The right area — a town, park or district — but not a precise spot.
Speculative
A reasoned guess: sources disagree or the exact place is unknown.
Fictional
The place exists only in the story; any pin marks a real-world stand-in or inspiration.
  1. LycoReco, the café at the heart of Lycoris Recoil, is a small neighborhood café in Sumida, north of Kinshichō Station. It has a wooden exterior with stained glass windows. In the story the café is a front: a branch of the agency that operates undercover as a café called LycoReco, home base of the series' two heroines. The café itself is made up, but the real area around the station is the largest shopping district in Sumida Ward.

Location precision: LycoReco is a fictional café; the pin marks Kinshichō Station, which the series places it beside.

  2. Kinshi Park is one of the real Sumida locations featured in Lycoris Recoil, and the Anime Tourism Association lists it alongside Sumida Aquarium and the water bus on the Sumida River. For fans there is a souvenir in the pavement: a manhole cover near the park shows the two main characters of the series. The park is in Sumida-ku, the same ward where the fictional café is set.

Location precision: The sources name the park but not the exact scenes; the pin marks Kinshi Park.

Visitor guidance: Look for the character manhole cover near Kinshi Park.

  3. Episode 5 features a water bus on the Sumida River, and the Anime Tourism Association lists water bus scenery among the real places that often appear. In August 2022 the Sumida ward tourism association chartered a Tokyo Mizube Line boat as a special LycoReco cruise, for the occasion. The river also carries the Sumida River Fireworks, launched from barges between Ryōgoku and Asakusa.

Location precision: The river is long and the sources name no pier; the pin marks the Sumida River article point.

  4. The series includes an aerial view of Ryōgoku, a district in Sumida. Together with Kinshi Park, Sumida Aquarium and the river water bus, it is one of the real Sumida places listed for the anime. The sources do not say which building or street the shot looks over, so this stop marks the district as a whole.

Location precision: The sources mention only an aerial view of Ryōgoku, not a viewpoint; the pin marks the district.

  5. Sumida Aquarium appears in Lycoris Recoil and is named by the Anime Tourism Association among the real places that often appear. It sits on the 5th and 6th floors of the Tokyo Skytree complex and opened in 2012, together with the tower. At opening it displayed 634 spotted garden eels, one for each metre of Skytree's height.

  6. In the story, Chisato is known for her involvement in the destruction of the old radio tower. A new tower, built to replace it as Tokyo's new symbol, stands 634 m tall, is finished near the end and hosts the final battle with Majima. Tokyo Skytree, in Sumida, is also 634 m, a height selected to be easily remembered. No source says Skytree is the model, so treat the match as a guess.

Location precision: No source says the story's tower is modeled on Skytree; the match rests on the shared 634 m height and Sumida setting.

Visitor guidance: Tokyo Skytree is a working broadcasting and observation tower in Sumida.
