  1. The film opens in Oro Valley, Arizona, where high school troublemaker Sean Boswell races classmate Clay and wrecks his Monte Carlo. Sean is sent to live with his father, a U.S. Navy lieutenant stationed in Tokyo, to avoid jail. None of it was shot in Arizona: the school scene was filmed at Juan Rodriguez Cabrillo High School, 2001 Santa Fe Avenue, in Long Beach, California.

  2. Sean's new home is Tokyo, and Shibuya Crossing is its calling card on screen. Director Justin Lin wanted to shoot in Shibuya, "the most crowded place in Tokyo", but permits were impossible to get, so the crew went ahead without permission. The crossing is described as the world's busiest, with 1,000–2,000 people crossing during a single green light.

Советы для посещения: A public pedestrian crossing in Shibuya, open to everyone.

  3. Sean's first night out ends at an underground car meet, where he clashes with Takashi, the "Drift King", over his girlfriend Neela. He races Takashi's Nissan 350Z in Han's Silvia and loses badly. The vast garage with the spiral ramp is really Hawthorne Plaza Mall in Hawthorne, south of Los Angeles; the mall closed in 1999 and became a popular film set. Demolition began in August 2026.

  4. To repay the wrecked Silvia, Sean agrees to work for Han. The garage where he fixes cars was a warehouse on Santa Fe Avenue at Mesquit Street in Downtown Los Angeles, beneath the old Sixth Street Viaduct. That bridge, opened in 1932, was demolished in 2016, so the spot has changed completely.

Точность места: The pin marks the Sixth Street Viaduct; the warehouse beneath its old structure is no longer there.

  5. Han begins teaching Sean to drift, and Sean practises on a dockside while local fishers look on. The scene was shot on South Seaside Avenue on Terminal Island, San Pedro, by the Terminal Island Japanese Fishing Village Memorial. The island fits the memorial: a Japanese American fishing community was established here starting in 1906.

Точность места: The pin marks Terminal Island as a whole; the exact dock on Seaside Avenue is not pinned.

  6. Han shows Sean the real reason he drifts, which is to meet girls, by performing donuts around two women. The neon-dressed 'Tokyo' intersection is Wilshire Boulevard between Grand Avenue and Flower Street in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles. It is pretty much the same spot where, near the end of the movie, Han's Mazda RX-7 is T-boned by a Mercedes-Benz W140 and explodes.

Точность места: The intersection is given only as Wilshire Boulevard between Grand Avenue and Flower Street, so it is not pinned.

  7. Sean challenges Takashi to a drift, loser leaves Tokyo. They race down a mountain pass; Takashi rams Sean, misses and crashes off a cliff, and Sean becomes the new Drift King. The 'Japanese' pass was filmed in Southern California, on roads off San Gabriel Canyon Road, Route 39, with the San Gabriel Dam visible behind the start. The dam is a rock-fill dam on the San Gabriel River.

Точность места: The race is set in Japan; the pin marks San Gabriel Dam near the California roads used.

Lycoris Recoil: Sumida Anime Locations

Lycoris Recoil is set in Tokyo, and its café LycoReco sits in Sumida, near Kinshichō Station, with Kinshi Park, the Sumida River water bus, Sumida Aquarium and Tokyo Skytree nearby. This route follows the series from the café and the real streets around it to the river, Ryōgoku and the aquarium, ending at the tower of the finale. LycoReco is fictional, and the link between the story's tower and Tokyo Skytree is a guess.
