Kingdom Come: Deliverance II — Kuttenberg and the Bohemian Paradise

Bohemia, 1403. Henry of Skalitz and Sir Hans Capon ride to Trosky Castle to find out which side Otto von Bergow is on, and the civil war between King Wenceslaus IV and King Sigismund drags them from the rocks of the Bohemian Paradise to the silver city of Kuttenberg, today Kutná Hora. The 2025 sequel by Warhorse Studios recreates its two big maps from real castles, villages and streets.

Timeline & locations

What do the location labels mean?
Exact
The pin marks the actual place where it happened or was filmed.
Approximate
The right area — a town, park or district — but not a precise spot.
  1. The sequel opens with Henry, Hans Capon and their entourage riding from Rattay to Trosky Castle to question Otto von Bergow about his allegiance to King Sigismund. They are denied entry because they cannot prove who they are, and a tavern brawl, which Capon starts and then blames on Henry, makes the two fall out. Capon leaves, and Henry is on his own. The game rebuilds the castle as it stood in 1403. The game's 2025 release raised interest in visiting the real ruin.

Visitor guidance: Trosky is a ruin that is open to visitors; the Baba tower has a steel observation deck at its summit.

  2. Henry learns that Bergow will attend a wedding in the village of Semine and infiltrates the celebration. Bergow never arrives, and the groom, Olda Semine, secretly leaves. When a brawl breaks out, Henry and Capon are imprisoned in Trosky Castle, and Capon is sentenced to hang for poaching. The real Semín is a hamlet about 2 km west of Troskovice, first recorded in 1356 as the seat of Jan and Oldřich of Semín. The game gives it a stronghold that was said to have stood there earlier; today a recreation and training centre occupies the site.

Location precision: No stronghold survives at Semín; the pin marks the hamlet of Semínský Dvůr, which the game recreates for the wedding.

  3. Bergow assigns Henry and Capon to help put down banditry, and the two enlist soldiers from Nebakov Fortress. A captive bandit then reveals that the bandits have covertly taken Nebakov over. Bergow musters a force to retake it, but the attack fails and Henry and Capon are taken prisoner. The game shows the castle with its pond and mill. The real Nebákov was built in the mid-13th century above the Žehrovka stream and its fishpond, probably burned down by the end of the 15th century and was abandoned by 1538. A Baroque water mill by the pond was rebuilt in 1743.

  4. Henry learns that Capon is held at Bergow's Maleshov castle. He and Zizka infiltrate it and rescue Capon and the prisoner Vauquelin Brabant. Later, with hired mercenaries and a stolen bombard, the group storms Maleshov and captures Bergow, who argues that Sigismund's position in Bohemia is unsustainable. The game shows the tvrz as it was in 1403 and gives it to Bergow; the real keep belonged to the Ruthard family, burghers of Kutná Hora, until 1411. A reconstruction in 2002-2017 brought it close to its high Gothic look.

Visitor guidance: The tvrz can be visited only on a guided tour booked in advance.

  5. On a side quest in Kuttenberg, Henry goes to the ossuary and arranges the bones into pyramids. The game shows it almost empty and in disarray, and features the blind monk of the legend, whom they called Morticius. The legend itself gives a half-blind monk the task of stacking the bones after 1511. The real chapel lies beneath the Cemetery Church of All Saints in Sedlec, a suburb of Kutná Hora. Today it holds the skeletons of an estimated 40,000 to 70,000 people, and a chandelier of bones hangs in the nave.

  6. With the lords captured, Bergow suggests robbing Sigismund's silver reserves in his Kuttenberg royal residence, which also holds the lords. Part of the party masquerades as a papal legate as a distraction while the rest traverse Kuttenberg's mines to reach the silver. The game depicts the Italian Court, the royal mint where Prague groschen were struck and a part-time royal residence. History ran the other way: after the surrender in January 1403 nearly all Kutná Hora's wealth, including goods stored in the Italian Court, was carried off.

Visitor guidance: It is now a museum of coin minting; the royal chapel and the hall of audience are open to the public.

  7. At Suchdol, Margrave Jobst warns Henry's group to refrain from banditry. After the silver heist the group flees to Suchdol castle, and Sigismund and his army leave Bohemia. A force led by Aulitz, Bergow and Brabant then besieges Suchdol; Aulitz is mortally wounded by Dry Devil, and Henry returns with reinforcements to repel the attackers. History has a parallel: Sigismund's commander Markvart of Úlice died in the siege of the Suchdol fort on 27 December 1402. Today the Gothic fortress is a Renaissance castle with the municipal office inside, beside the Church of St Margaret.

Visitor guidance: Suchdol is about 7 km west of Kutná Hora; the castle houses the municipal office and the church of St Margaret stands next to it.

Forza Horizon 5: Mexico in Seven Stops

Forza Horizon 5 drops the Horizon Festival into a fictionalised Mexico, on a map 50% larger than Forza Horizon 4's. Creative director Mike Brown calls Mexico almost the whole world in one country: snowy peaks, tropical jungles, epic canyons, beautiful beaches, ancient architecture and modern cities. This route visits seven real places the game recreates, from a sea arch at the tip of Baja to a canyon with a train, and says what the game does at each. The map is a condensed Mexico, so the pins mark the real sites, not their positions in the game.

Shenmue I & II: From Yokosuka to Guilin

In 1986 the teenage martial artist Ryo Hazuki comes home to the family dojo in Yokosuka and watches his father, Iwao, die at the hands of Lan Di. Swearing revenge, Ryo follows the killer to Hong Kong in 1987 and on to the mountains of Guilin, and the two games turn that trail into one long walk through a living town, a harbor, a crowded Hong Kong district and a walled city. The route follows Shenmue and Shenmue II in seven stops. Dobuita Street and Kowloon Walled City are real places the game draws on, the dojo and Bailu Village are invented, and every stop says how closely its pin matches the game.

Pokémon Red and Blue: Kanto in the Real World

You start in a quiet town, pick a starter, beat eight gym leaders and take on Team Rocket. The Kanto of Pokémon Red and Blue is invented, yet it is based on the real Kantō region of Japan, and fans have spent decades matching its towns to real places. This route follows the game's journey from Pallet Town to the final gym and sets each stop beside the real place it is said to resemble. The game's Kanto is inspired by the real one, not a copy of it, so every pin is an outside reading of the map, not an official location.
